This is the bookwork for my 3D ball and tail, there isn’t anything for the 3D ball as I really used the the same bounce I did for the 2D ball but just adjusted a few things to make use of the 3D features. I think with this animation I have pushed myself in maya as I feel I struggle with it a bit but now I feel a lot more confident using it. I know my ball and tail still needs a bit more work but once I’ve done that I think I’ll get quite a good animation out of it.

This is the draft of my 3D ball and tail. Don’t mind the quality as I had to lower the resolution to upload this. There’s still a bit to be done to this and that’s to sort out the lighting, some of camera movement and a few bounces but this shouldn’t take too long and the final result will be done soon.

This is my second attempt at the 3D ball. It’s the same as the previous animation but smoothed out quite a bit. I followed some tutorials from “Digital Art’s Guild” youtube channel and from this I was able to make the inbetweens move more smoothly and learn how to create different lights to create a shadow. I think this version looks a lot better than my previous attempt and I’m going to stick with this for now.

This is a draft of my 3D ball. I’ve had a lot of problems with rendering this as a quicktime movie so I rendered it as a TIFF sequence and imported it into after effects so I’ve got to sort this out pretty soon. This ball is the same as my 2D ball which I’ve submitted but when I watch this it just doesn’t look right and I’ve tried messing around with the graph editor but it doesn’t seem to change for the best so at the moment, I’m stuck with this animation for now.

This is my final version of the 2D bouncing ball across the screen. This one hasn’t been as stressful as the ball with tail animation but has still been a lot of work so hopefully this is enough, I like to think it is and if it isn’t… then… I’ll be very sad………. so say it’s good!

This is my final 2D bouncing ball with tail animation. It’s been a stressful-ish journey but eventually I finished it and hopefully this will be good enough and if not……… ARGH!!!!!!!!

This is my second attempt at the 2D bouncing ball with tail. I would like to eventually submit this as my final animation but at the moment I can only consider this a draft because……. well……. it needs a huge amount of work done to it still :P
